Embryology Introduction for Osteopathy students at the CCO/CEO family of colleges

Number of Hours: 16 in class and 20-36 online study
General Objectives:
This course is meant to give a osteopathic students a basic understanding of the developing human through the study of embryonic and fetal periods.
The course of study will include the medical, scientific and osteopathic knowledge of this topic.
Emphasis will be placed on the clinical importance of the starting and end points of embryological development.
Teaching and learning methods:
Online format with the use of electronic media to demonstrate the motions that occur during development. Still pictures and video movies will be used to show clear visual relationships during development. Palpation sections of the normal embryological rotations will be used to give Osteopathic students an appreciation of their importance.
Assessment:
There is one examination at the end of this course for students of the CCO. A passing mark is 70%
